Due to the successful growth of R&M, our international expansion and our philosophy around continuous improvement, a position has become available for a highly competent individual to help drive the group’s reporting capabilities.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Group BI & Data Product Manager, the primary role of this position is to develop Reed & Mackay’s reporting capability, including but not limited to international reporting across the Group and its partner network. R&M are going through an exciting and pivotal evolution in terms of business intelligence and a shift in the approach to how our clients interact with their data. This varied role will play a vital part in this progression. Requires a team player with a strong background developing Tableau reporting, whilst strong skills in SQL Server are also needed for data querying and troubleshooting. Lead by example in being courteous, proactive, helpful and respectful with everyone around you.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Creating dashboards based on documented requirements within an Agile environment.
- Conduction maintenance and improvements on existing dashboards.
- Utilising MS SQL for data querying to validate business inquiries and troubleshoot issues.
- Using MS SQL to interrogate large sets of data
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to comprehend business needs and gather essential requirements
- for support system tasks.
- Escalating tickets to the Group BI & Data Product Manager when development or bug resolution is necessary.
- Engaging in administrative tasks within the team, such as documentation, best practice guidelines, and training materials.
- Demonstrating testing proficiency both before and after releases, including writing test cases for items in
- development and post-release feature testing as directed by the Group BI & Data Product Manager.
- Advocating for process automation and self-service solutions throughout the organization.
- Actively engaging with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and gather valuable feedback, fostering strong client relationships and enhancing product/service offerings based on client input.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL query writing.
- Advanced knowledge of Tableau Desktop / Server development.
- Strong Excel skills and experience of working a variety of file formats including CSV, TXT and XML.
- A collaborative, team orientated approach.
- Problem-solving skills and ability for critical thinking.
- A flexible nature to respond to changing priorities.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:
- Experience developing in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and implementing ETL processes using SQL
- Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Previous experience with Python.
- Previous experience of working with dbt and Snowflake.
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Testing experience.
- Agile experience.
- The ability to analyse and resolve issues under pressure.
- Previous use of ServiceNow or DevOps
